Here are some dates for your Diary

Music festival – Saturday 7th July

Y6 Awards Night/Disco – Wednesday 18th July

Friends of the school (F.O.T.S) are a mixture of parents that work together for the benefit of our children. FOTS have events planned each month up to the end of July 2017.

Thank you to all who have registered on the Easyfundraising website.  Just by clicking on the link we have raised £356.98.  There are currently only 21 members registered to High Green Primary School.  Can you imagine how much we could raise if a few more of us registered??

Below is the link to follow….—fots-/

10 reasons why we need your help;

1. You are vital to the success of the school

Ideally we would like each year group to have at least one class representative.  Last year FOTS helped to fund changes to the school field, provided children with gifts throughout the year and subsidised School trips.

2. It’s totally flexible!

Giving up just 30 minutes of your time to help us is invaluable. If everyone could spare 30 minutes a term to help, just think what we could achieve!
You don’t have to attend every meeting – you can use our contact details to send in ideas for discussion or post ideas in the FOTS box in reception.

3. You’ll feel more connected

There’s no better way to know what events are being planned, have your say or make new fundraising suggestions, than by offering your help and support.

4. You’ll be part of a great network

Every FOTS event is an opportunity to meet other parents in the same situation as you.
You will be part of a like-minded network of people who all share a common goal of improving the school for all our children.

5. Make a difference

By volunteering to help FOTS, you’ll be able to use whatever skills you have for a good cause.
FOTS would like to establish a supportive and encouraging community for the entire school.

6. We’re not just for mums!

It’s important to FOTS, our school and our pupils to have dads, Grandparents, aunts and uncles represented on our committee.
Do you have a family member with a skill that would come in useful?

7. Be a role model

Your children will see you playing an active part in making their education more varied and fun.
Getting involved illustrates good teamwork and community spirit.

8. What FOTS does affect every parent (and pupil)

Your voice matters – FOTS is made up of people like you, so help us to do this effectively.
Your ideas and involvement can help improve the quality of education for all the children at our school.
See the smiles on their faces and know that you have played a part in making school a little more comfortable and fun!

9. It’s fun!

Help plan fun events, socials and get-togethers
Suggest NEW fun ways to raise funds
Get your whole family involved!

10. Finally…

Our children are only at school for a relatively short time. We hope future FOTS events will be remembered fondly by our children for a lifetime. The equipment and resources that FOTS helps fund, make learning even more engaging. Help us continue to create lasting memories for our children.

Please email with any ideas or if you can help in any way!

Thank you!!

Hi I’m Laura Taylor, married to Graham. We have 2 children, Phoebe is in Y4 and Josh in Y1. I became involved in FOTS as I wanted to get involved in the school;  I went to High Green Primary School when I was younger! My mum was a member, so I’m carrying on the tradition!! I thoroughly enjoy being a member of FOTS and seeing the children’s faces as they get involved in the events that are arranged.
My name is Joanna Evans I am married to Matthew, we have three boys, Jack in Y4, Alfie in Y1, and baby Max. I joined F.O.T.S in 2014 and enjoy been involved in planning and organising our events. Utilising my skills and experience as a visual merchandiser.
I’m Angela Wigfield, married with two children, Alex (aged 17) and Carmen in Y5. I have lived in High Green for 5 years having moved from Chapeltown where I am originally from. I work for a large retailer in Meadowhall.  I started helping out with serving refreshments on several occasions within school events with F.O.T.S. I get pleasure out of helping out and giving ideas to support our school.
Hi my name is Fern and have a little boy Logan who’s in Y3. I help F.O.T.S because I enjoy raising money and want to make a difference to the school

Kate Fern

Hello, my name is Kate Fearn (married to Richard) we have two boys Daniel (currently in Y4) and Sam who’s in Y1. I have lived in High Green for the last 17 years.  I got involved with FOTS a couple of years ago, just by emailing to say I could help out at events.  I was made very welcome and even though I can only give a small amount of time I really feel part of the team.  Due to work commitments I don’t get to school as much as I would like so FOTS really helps to keep me feel connected to my kids school life.  Its fantastic to be involved in raising money for the school and seeing what a difference FOTS can make.
